We hope you are well. Everything has been good at the shop, we've been super busy with lots of buying. Lets get to it!
BUYING
1) Yesterday Scott and I went to a really brilliant collection in North London where we bought a van load of LPs and 12" singles. This is just the start of a big collection which is really incredible. I purchased the Rock titles and Scott the Dance. The Dance 12"s and LPs included labels such as Trax, Planet E, Industrial Strength, DJ International, Murk, Warp, Nu Groove etc. Genre wise there was a lot of Chicago House, Italo House, New York / New Jersey House, Detroit Techno, Acid Techno, Deep House, Breakbeat.. Some bigger LPs from artists like Leftfield, Massive Attack, Basement Jaxx, The Prodigy, Death In Vegas, Underworld etc. The Rock stuff was really great - a real mixture but one thing that was pretty common was that they were all in generally amazing condition! Some of the records on the rock side were loads of Beatles (including some rare pressings, loud cuts, duplicates), Forest, Husker Du (super amazing copies in shrink with Hype Stickers), The Kinks, Bad Brains, Wipers, Dr Feelgood, Ten Years After, Judee Sill, Circle Jerks, Soundgarden, Sonic Youth, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, Groundhogs, The Rolling Stones (lovely original copies!), Nirvana, The Hollies, Fairport Convention, Madonna, U2, The Adverts, Throbbing Gristle, Pink Floyd, Nucleus, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, The Damned, Led Zeppelin, The Clash, The Pretty Things, Oasis, Hawkwind, Jimi Hendrix, Sly & The Family Stone, Funkadelic etc.
2) Nice collection of Indie and Alternative - including titles from Oasis, The Wildhearts, Ween, Soundgarden, Muse, Deus, Queens Of The Stoneage, Low, Fountains Of Wayne, Foo Fighters, The Flaming Lips etc.
3) Sean bought a nice collection of Classic Rock and Folk - several hundred LPs from artists like Davey Graham, Shirley Collins, The Kinks, Bob Dylan, Nic Jones, Sandy Denny, David Bowie, The Beatles, Small Faces etc. Pretty much all original pressings!
4) Some cool Rap and Dance CDs including titles from DJ Screw, Three Six Mafia, Mr Fingers, Project Pat, Brother Lynch Hung, Nas, Pete Rock, Basic Channel etc.
5) Cool mix of LPs and 12"s from Kraftwerk, Neu, The Smiths, PIL, Jay Z and Madvillain.
6) Classic Rock LPs from Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Eagles, Jimi Hendrix, Caravan and The Doors.
7) More great Rock LPs from Flower Travellin Band, The Who, Sandy Denny, Led Zeppelin etc.
8) Some nice Jazz reissue LPs including a pricey one from Sonny Sharrock.
9) Interesting Rock LPs from Tame Impala, Bob Dylan, Grateful Dead, Syd Barrett, Tangerine Dream, Comets On Fire, Yo La Tengo etc.
10) Nice selection of Beatles LPs.
11) Loads of cool records from Toru including titles from Maki, Dave Barker, Skullflower, Photek, Ben Webster, Jovonn, DJ Wax, Yusef Lateef, Leon Ware etc.
12) Some great Reggae CDs from Alton Ellis, Prince Jammy, Joe Gibbs etc.
13) Some lovely first press David Bowie LPs (with some Neil Young and Beatles LPs).
14) Cool selection of Now Again LP Reissues, a rare Tool CD, Lana Del Ray, MD Doom, J Dilla etc.
15) Some nice CDs including loads of Blue Notes and a tonne of great Rare Groove compilations.
16) Big stack of Techno 12"s.
17) Some super nice rarities from Future Sounds Of London, Leftfield, Dayglo Maradona, Rage Against The Machine etc.
18) 40 more Blue Note CDS!
19) More nice Reggae CDs from Augustus Pablo, Mighty Diamonds, Scientist etc.
20) Some great Jungle and Drum & Bass from J Majik, Goldie, Adam F, Optical etc.
21) Plenty of Prog and Metal titles including some biggies from Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath.
22) More great Rock records from Cream, ZZ Top, The Beatles, The Who, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Rammstein, Morrissey, Thin Lizzy, Pearl Jam etc.
23) Interesting CDs from Serge Gainsbourg, Trapeze, The Velvet Underground, Nick Cave, Joy Division, MC5, Rainbow, Dream Syndicate etc.
24) Ben sold in some great stuff including titles from Weyes Blood, Frank Zappa, Popol Vuh, Parquet Courts, Elvis Presley, Abba, Suzanne Ciani etc.
25) One of our pals sold in a great selection of Dance LPs and 12"s including titles from Source Direct, NSI, Aphex Twin, Electronic Dub etc.
26) Loads of cool tapes from artists like The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Oasis etc.
27) Little pile of LPs including Arvo Part, Keith Jarrett, Roxy Music etc.
28) Big stack of House and Hip Hop 12"s.
29) Some random Rock titles (including loads of titles on Third Man).
30) Modern LPs from Twenty One Pilots, Blossoms, Cage The Elephant, The 1975 etc.
31) Some signed Sepultura CDs!
32) LPs from Spacemen 3, Violent Femmes, Neu, Einsterzende Neubauten etc.
33) Loads more House - in great condition - from Glenn Underground, Kyle Hall, Underground Resistance, Herbert, Roisin Murphy etc.
34) Heavy LPs and 12"s from Minor Threat, Metallica and Motorhead.
35) Great CD collection - 350 CDs including loads of US Indie, Music from round the world, Trojan titles, heavy Rap etc.
36) 500 great records including some brilliant 70s Roots Reggae, Punk, Classic Rock, Kevin Ayers, Rameses etc.
37) Fantastic pile of rare Depeche Mode titles.
38) Several decent Reggae collections - all across the board.
39) Rock LPs including titles from R.E.M., The Residents, Flipper, Tom Waits etc.
40) Loads more great Hardcore titles from bands like Total Abuse, Negative FX, Born Against, Citizens Arrest, Iron Age etc.
And thats just a small selection of what we bought recently! Phew!
