Luke Poulton Top Ten
1) nothing, nowhere - ruiner
nothing, nowhere very quickly became one of my favourite artists right from when I first listened to him. He bring so much emotion to his music and we get a lot from this album. It is fantastic. The song Hammer absolutely bangs, yes I meant to do that pun, sorry. But it's my most listened to track on this album.
2) Poppy - I Disagree
Seeing Poppy go from making quite calm pop music to heavy stuff like this was incredible. I don't think there's a bad track on this album and it's one of my most listened to.
3) Brockhampton - Saturation
Brockhampton were one of the best new rap groups around, giving us banging albums after banging albums. Saturation is one that really saw how incredible they were and I hope they return one day.
4) Lil Peep - Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 1
We lost Lil Peep too soon and this album just shows how absolutely brilliant he was. An album that shows a lot of emotion and gives us very catchy songs.
5) Charli XCX - How I'm Feeling Now
Along with loving Hardcore, I'm also a big fan of hyper pop and Charli XCX is giving us some of the best and this album does it perfectly!
6) Wallace & Gromit - The Curse of The Were-Rabbit Soundtrack
A lot of people know I love Wallace & Gromit, so of course something to do with them would be on this list. This is a fantastic soundtrack done by Julian Nott who made the music for some of the other Wallace & Gromit films too.
7) Job For A Cowboy - Doom
This right here is the record that got me into deathcore, it's one I still go back and listen to a lot now. It's incredibly heavy and just a brilliant first EP.
8) At The Drive-In - Relationship of Command
With members of The Mars Volta before they started The Mars Volta. A brilliant post hardcore band and this album is perfect.
9) The Mars Volta - Deloused In the Comatorium
Another album that I bought just because of the front cover and fell in love with this album very quickly. It's such a perfect mix of experimental, post hardcore and progressive rock.
10) Stick To Your Guns - For What It's Worth
This is an album that I just bought from seeing the front cover in a shop without hearing anything from the band. I'm so glad I did, because this is one of the bands that got me into hardcore.
Many thanks to Luke - the king of Wallace & Gromit comedy (and much more!).
