Its a Cold World out there…

Yo from Reckless!!!

This Blog Post was written to the sounds of:

Well it was a bit of a nuts week – some days it took me two hours to get in to work – and it what obviously the same for a lot of people as a few days this week we were pretty dead. We were on a skeleton staff for a few days as some of us had to look after our kids when the Schools were shut but we all worked late to make sure that we got loads of new records out!

Anyway enough dry chat this is what came in this week:

  1. Several really, really good Classic Rock collections. I’m was told that both of the collections were very similar, and both killer. I was too busy being in Mallorca having it incredibly large with some other Reckless employees. Anyway; some very clean original records. I went through them today and: Jimi Hendrix, The Who, John Martyn, Cream, Eric Clapton, The Doors, Bob Dylan, The Band, Canned Heat, The Rolling Stones, Robert Wyatt, Roy Buchanan, Talking Heads, Lou Reed, Guy Clark, Frank Zappa, David Bowie, The Seeds, Bruce Springsteen, Steely Dan, Richard & Linda Thompson, Van Morrison, Thin Lizzy, Gram Parsons, Big Star, Black Sabbath…… these will go out throughout the week and they won’t last long!
  2. Another week another load of killer 90s LPs. Some really nice ones (decent shape too): R.E.M., Oasis, Blur, The Boo Radleys, The Field Mice, New Order, The Stone Roses, Portishead, Super Furry Animals, The Fall, Stereolab, Cocteau Twins etc. Fair bit of Sarah Records bits.
  3. Loads more wicked Jungle and Hardcore – keep putting it all up on Instagram and it keeps selling in about 5 minutes – more Tango, Origin Unknown, Ratty, Bukem, Seduction, Top Buzz, Bay B Kane, Pascal & Sponge…..we’ve been assured a lot more are coming in over the next few weeks.
  4. Quite a few nice Metal records have also been coming in off a regular seller: Cannibal Corpse, Mayhem, Conan, Darkthrone, Sepultura, Really hope he has loads more!
  5. Some decent Punk came in too – including a Part 1 Test Press and some Killed By Death comps,

Probably loads more came in but I was away (hence why there was no Blog last week but there will be another one at the end of this week if enough stuff comes in!).

We did some serious processing this week – fully stacked the 45s. I put out boxes of priced up ones today – loads of killer stuff. The Dance sure have been pricing like crazy and some seriously killer House and Techno has been going out from that huge collection we bought last month. Eddie has also priced up a tonne of Reggae and its selling fast!!

Loads of Decent new Reissues coming in this week too – all the classics. We’ve started getting in a load more new stuff from the distributors – so if you need a classic LP wether its Wu Tang, The Zombies or Joni Mitchell we’ll have it.

This week we have a Top Ten from Stu Tolhurst. I don’t know Stu but after going to the amazing Dub Organiser nights he does with Keith Lawrence I knew I had to ask him for a Top Ten. His selections were so killer, and it was amazing to be back home in Kent listening to the music I love on a big sound system in a little pub near my Dads old house! If you are ever in Whitstable and it is on you have to go – you will not be disappointed!
