A DAY LATE A DOLLAR SHORT

Hola!

Another big week at Reckless, this is what came in…

A pretty small collection in Wimbledon early in the week provided probably our biggest purchase this week. This was mainly due to the fact that in that collection was an LP by super obscure folk rock act Beggars Hill. There are said to be 155 copies of this LP (which features Fairport Convention, Ewan McColl and Richard & Linda Thompson) after the rest of the pressing was skipped. Its probably unplayed – the really nice lady who sold the collection said so and it certainly looks like it.

Next up – Al went to a collection in North London which ended up being a crate of 60s demos. Mostly in lovely condition, all in company sleeves, centres intact etc. There were some really nice bits in there including titles by James Brown, The Afex, Wanda Jackson, John Barry etc. Some seriously nice titles in there!!!

Biggest purchase on the Soul & Dance side was a bombastic 90s collection – just the start of it apparently. This included all Wu Tang, and solo albums (plus a load of 12s) – including Ol Dirty Bastard, Raekwon etc. Some nice house LPs (Virgo, Mr Fingers etc) plus a load of Mo Wax bits. There were also tonnes more Hip Hop LPs and 12″s. This collection was also seriously clean; and nearly all in shrink.

This nice geezer from East London popped in midweek with two huge packets of rare UK Garage, Jungle/Hardcore and Reggae. All a bit mashed up but there were some serious, serious biscuits in there. There were titles from Dillinja, Groove Chronicles, Barry Brown, Prince Far I, Ragu & Stalker, Satin Storm, Anthill Mob etc.

We also had some hard rock in this week; mostly pretty standard – but still wicked – (Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Motley Crue…) but in there was another copy of the Bakerloo LP. Bit tatty (unlike the last one we had) but a great filler copy and much cheaper than nice ones!! Check out this killer Motley LP – you also need to read their book if you haven’t had a chance.
